The National Council of People with Disabilities in Bulgaria (NSHUB) is a non-governmental organization with 10 nationally representative members associations in Bulgaria of and for people with special abilities. NSHUB represents the interests of over 150 thousand people with disabilities in Bulgaria.
The beginning was made through the first informal association of organizations of people with disabilities in Bulgaria, with the signing of an Agreement on coordination and cooperation between the Union of the Deaf in Bulgaria , the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria, the Union of the Disabled in Bulgaria and the Central Union of Cooperatives of the Disabled in 1992, subsequently expanded with the National Center for Social Rehabilitation and the Bulgarian Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. The same organizations in 2003 already and formally established a National Council of Disabled People to serve with their experience and traditions and as a center for uniting organizations of disabled people, a member of the European Disability Forum (EDF) from 15 May 2004.
