Association of Parents of Visually Impaired Children (ARDNZ) is a non-governmental organization established in 1994. By decision of the Council of Ministers, our association has the status of a nationally representative organization of people with disabilities. ARDNZ is a member of the National Council of People with Disabilities, a body with advisory functions to the government.
The association is an association of parents expressing and protecting the interests and specific needs of children with various visual problems and children with multiple disabilities from all over the country. These are children from early childhood, students from schools for visually impaired children, integrated students in general education schools and students. ARDNZ also supports visually impaired children who are deprived of parental care.
The association of parents of visually impaired children develops the following activities:
Provision and financing of specialized transport from their homes to school and back for visually impaired students and also for students with multiple disabilities who use wheelchairs. He also pays for transportation to summer rehabilitation camps. Payment of textbooks for students integrated in mainstream schools.
Enrollment of textbooks and fiction in CD or DVD. Funding of assistive technology and equipment for visually impaired students and students with multiple disabilities. Purchase of Braille writing paper. Organization and financing of summer rehabilitation camps for children with impaired vision and multiple disabilities. Consultations on various subjects for students with impaired vision in specialized schools and for those integrated in general education schools. Provides financial support to visually impaired children for treatment and operations in the country and abroad.
Support in the implementation of integrated education of visually impaired children in general education schools.
Commandation of resource teachers dealing with integrated students in general education schools.
Supporting the activity of vocal groups "Smiles" and "Tins" from SU for visually impaired students "Louis Braille" - the city of Sofia and the dance composition, and the orchestra for folk instruments at SU for visually impaired students "Prof. Ivan Shishmanov" — the city of Varna, entirely made up of children with impaired vision.
Rehabilitation, kinesitherapy, music therapy and psychotherapy for children with impaired vision and children with multiple disabilities. Organizes and finances courses in piano, English, orientation and mobility, etc.
