I. General presentation of the organization
Association "Association of parents of children with hearing impaired" /ARDUS/ is a non-profit legal entity, registered in the Sofia City Court with a decision dated May 11, 1992, to carry out activities in public benefit in order to protect the rights and defend the interests of children and young people with hearing impairment and their families.
The organization contributes to the better social and personal realization of children and young people with hearing impairment, supports and supports their families. Its members are parents, specialists and people sympathetic to the problems of children and young people with hearing impairment. The activity of the organization has a national scope.
The governing bodies of the Association are the General Assembly as the supreme body and the Management Board - the governing body.
Association of parents of hearing-impaired children of parents of hearing-impaired children is recognized as a representative organization at the national level and is a member of the National Council of People with Disabilities by decision of the Council of Ministers. ARDUS is a member of the National Council of People with Disabilities in Bulgaria, which is part of the European Forum of People with Disabilities and the European Federation of Parents of Children with Disabilities hearing impaired /FEPEDA/.
The association is registered with the Agency for the Quality of Social Services under the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy for the provision of social service "< span style="font-weight: bolder;">Mobile center for working with children and youth with hearing impairment".
The funds of the association are formed from the following sources: subsidy from the state budget, membership fees, earned projects and donations.
The main goals of the association are:
Protecting the rights and defending the interests of children and young people hearing impaired and their families; .
Hearing and speech rehabilitation from an early age; .
Counseling families of children and young people with hearing impairment; .
Supporting the educational, cultural, social and health needs of hearing-impaired children and youth and their families; .
Supporting the process of socialization, integration and professional orientation; .
Realization of the labor market of people with hearing impairment; .
Increasing society's sensitivity to hearing impaired people.
ARDUS actively cooperates with organizations working in the field of integration of disabled people in Bulgaria and Europe.
2. The association carries out activities and initiatives related to the problems, interests and rights of children and youth with hearing impairment and their families.< br>Works to change society's attitude towards hearing-impaired people. The activities carried out are in accordance with the statute, goals and tasks of the organization.
The association, as a nationally representative organization, carries out activities in the following areas:< br>
Hearing and speech rehabilitation of hearing-impaired children and youth;
Assistance in the learning process of hearing-impaired students and students;
Extracurricular activities and courses;
Psychological assistance to children and youth the hearing impaired and their families; .
Assistance of a sign interpreter and/or pedagogue of the deaf, when communicating with educational institutions, state administration and employers;
Support for the purchase of textbooks and teaching aids; .
Support for the purchase of batteries for cochlear implant systems;
Organization of seminars and trainings for parents and youth;
Integration activities and social activities;
Rehabilitation camps;
Organization of information campaigns;
Issue of information materials - newsletter, leaflets, brochures, etc.;
Activities in national and international organizations;
Implementation of projects independently or in partnership with other organizations financed under national or European programs. The Association's activities are aimed at all those directly and indirectly related to people with hearing impairment: .
Children and youth with hearing impairment;
Families of children and youth with hearing impairment;
Teachers, resource teachers and rehabilitators, working with hearing-impaired children and youth;
Representatives of local and state authorities, related organizations in the country and abroad - activities related to our membership in NSHU and NSHUB as well as in FEPEDA. The general public in order to change attitudes towards disabled people - publication and distribution of printed and electronic materials, conducting information campaigns, participation in educational and career forums, etc.
ARDUS there are support and counseling centers for hearing-impaired children and youth and their families in Sofia, Plovdiv, Gabrovo and Stara Zagora. They offer consultations to families of hearing-impaired people for social integration and equal participation in public life, organize various classes, meetings of members, school hours.
Information about the activities of ARDUS is published on the organization's website www.ardusbg.com and on our Facebook page, as well as in other print and electronic media, organizing information campaigns.
3. The association annually publishes an information bulletin, printed materials to help parents and specialists, flyers to inform the public about the specifics of communicating with the hearing impaired, etc.
